When I met Professor Castillo my Spanish vocabulary was limited to “hola” “adios” and “taco.” However, with his instruction I was able to accomplish goals that I never believed possible. During the brief time that we spent together at the University of Texas Professor Castillo taught me everything I would need to know to master the Spanish language, travel the American Continent and get an A in his class. His very detailed, direct and logical approach to teaching is easy for even the most remedial language student, such as myself, to understand. His instruction inspires a confidence that one can find in few other places.

Using all that he gave me I have had the good fortune to spend more than four years living in various countries in Latin America, all the while accomplishing a fluency in Spanish that only he knew I was capable of.
